TankHaven is a free aquarium planner and care guide. By using the site you agree to these terms. They're written to be read, so they're short.
Care information is guidance, not a guarantee
Everything here — care ranges, compatibility checks, stocking advice, gear lists and guides — is general hobby guidance. Fish, plants and corals vary with where they came from, and every tank and water supply is different. Check with your supplier, test your own water and watch your own animals.
TankHaven isn't responsible for the loss of livestock or plants, or for damage to property, including water damage and the weight of a filled tank on a floor or stand. For large tanks, read the guide to weight and floors and ask a qualified professional where it matters.
What you can do with our content
The text, guides, care pages, drawings, design and code on TankHaven are ours and protected by copyright. You're welcome to:
- Use the planner and read the guides for your own tanks.
- Share links to any page.
- Quote a short passage, with a link back to the page it came from.
- Print pages for your own use.
Please don't:
- Copy or republish guides, care pages or other content, in whole or in large parts, on another site, app or publication.
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site or its data by automated means, including to build a dataset or a competing product.
- Present our content as your own.
Search engines indexing the site in the usual way is fine. If you'd like to use our content in another way, ask us.
Photos belong to their photographers
Species photos are by independent photographers and used under Creative Commons licences or from the public domain. They are not ours to license: each one's photographer and licence are on its credit button and on the photo credits page, and you can reuse a photo under the terms of its own licence.
Your builds are yours
Builds you make stay in your browser, and the layouts, names and notes in them belong to you. Images you download of your own builds are yours to use however you like. A share link carries the build inside the link itself, so anyone you give it to can see it; we don't store it. See the privacy page for details.
Shop links and other sites
Some links go to shops, and some of those are affiliate links: if you buy through one, TankHaven may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Products, prices, availability, delivery and returns are the shop's responsibility, under the shop's own terms. Links to other websites are there because we think they're useful, not because we control or endorse everything on them.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is, free of charge, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it accurate and available but can't promise it's error-free or always online. To the fullest extent the law allows, TankHaven isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from using the site or relying on its content.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site grows. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
